About Jadcherla
Jadcherla was upgraded from a village to a census town in 2011 and later became a municipality. The 2011 census recorded a population of 17,958 across a town area of about 4.83 sq km. It sits roughly 86 km south of Hyderabad and 21 km from Mahabubnagar, at the meeting point of National Highway 44 (earlier numbered NH-7) and National Highway 167.
Two things keep the local economy moving. The Polepally Pharma SEZ, a few kilometres from the town, houses pharmaceutical and bulk drug units that employ people from across the mandal. The market yard near Jadcherla railway station is among the larger ones in the Telangana region and draws farmers from the surrounding villages.
